Doors are closing to a changing industry. Fashion growth is no longer about cost cutting alone, innovation and unmet needs takes the lane. Here at Fashions Unlimited we recently supported two women owned Maryland start-ups. With our expertise and commitment the entrepreneur's idea was formulated into a prototype, tested and then went on to full production.
Despite the initial challenges of not knowing the fashion industry, both clients, were disciplined and focused on mastering their niche markets that made for a competitive launch. Launching with Kickstarter campaigns created brand awareness and exposure to potential clients to pre-sell their collections.
This direct to customer model highlighted key insights. Rather than the traditional method of forced goods and large volume. By offering lower minimum requirements these small businesses are able to set off running without large inventories tying up funds. Pre-selling the collection with Kickstarter allowed for a lean inventory system that put cash in the bank from the start. We are excited to announce the opening of the Fashion Innovation Hub June 2018 to build bridges for more fashion success stories.
